IdleBreaks Testimonials

We value the relationships we build with customers and are pleased to pass on some of the kind words they have taken the time to send after their breaks.

I've been using IdleBreaks as a venue for training camps for several years. Tracey and Andy Idle and their team are perfect hosts and our athletes always leave Spain, tired, well fed and happy.

The venue is perfect in that it has access to everything we need for cycling. Quiet well paved roads, hills, flat roads and some lovely little loops for time trials.

For triathletes, the lake swimming is excellent with 2 great lakes nearby and the running is also good with a variety of terrains within easy reach. If you do go to spend a week to two at IdleBreaks I can guarantee that you'll want to go back again.

It's a great place and I have no hesitation in recommending it.

We spent a lovely week at IdleBreaks. Having been to lots of training camps, both organized and DIY style, I can honestly say IdleBreaks is as good as the very best. Peaceful, great pool, excellent riding, quiet roads (eerily quiet, like one car an hour quiet, where was everyone??!?), big climbs and fantastic hosts. Everything you need for a perfect break.

Just a quick email to let you know how things are over here and also to double check what week we're down for next year as flights will be coming out soon.

If you have any extra weeks going also let me know as might be able to send another camp your way.

Everyone seems to be flying. Dan did IMUK in under 09:30!! 2nd in his age group, got a nice trophy and obviously a Kona slot. As he'd already planned to go to Arizona and has forked out on flights, hotel and accom he decided not to take it. Rob has just got back from Alpe d'Huez tri & had a strong bike. Amy is off to Kona she qualified at IMUK looked strong throughout.

Roger is putting in some impressive performances in elite races! Bex is flying winning most races she enters. All in all everyone is having a good season, I'm even if not looking lean have dropped a few pounds and am almost the right side of 80kg rather than the 89.5kg I was earlier.. Fingers crossed I'll have a good one at Ironman Wales.

I got some feedback from people on the camp. Haven't emailed earlier as, as usual nothing negative came up. Everyone had an amazing time & the camp seems to be paying off if the results above are anything to go by.

We thoroughly enjoyed the relaxing and invigorating stay we had at the complex. You even laid on ideal, sunny, warm and dry weather! We massively appreciated the lengths you all went to to provide us with a relaxing long weekend away together.

You cycle-guided us in a warm and hospitable manner to the extent we felt we were cycling with old friends. Added to that you were so willing to go the extra mile (literally) to enable us to enjoy evenings relaxing in the local town/village. The swimming pool was a fine place to swim with an even better view.

The eulogy could continue but suffice to say that if we have the chance we would simply love to return for another blast round the hills followed by swims and relaxing by the pool or heading into town for dinner. Many many thanks!

"In the short number of days since our return I have been reflecting on the wonderful time that my wife and family spent at your retreat in Spain and felt I had to just let you know that we really did have a fabulous time.

The weather, of course, was perfect but it would be difficult to thank you for that! All features of our stay, the peace and quiet punctuated mainly by laughter and splashes as more bodies enter the pool, your great hospitality, sense of fun, encyclopaedic knowledge of the area, the scenic walks of any distance, the pretty countryside, the scenic villages, bars, restaurants and that wonderful lake whose name escapes me etc.

Finally, the food, the ambience of the little bars you pointed out for us, their very low prices and sheer quality have simply restored my faith in Spain - well, your area of it anyway. If you will have us all again - Hasta Luego!"

Barry Elisson & family (UK), August 2010

"Another hugely enjoyable trip for the whole family. This visit was my fifth year in succession, twice as a cycling based holiday with my cycling buddies and three times with my whole family.

All the family have found something to do, the majority of the time involving the great pool, but we've also had a couple of day trips out. I'm particularly happy this year that my 13 year old son, Kyle, had a ride on a proper road bike for the first time and really enjoyed it. I too have managed to get in a couple of great rides in the hills on one of the Planet X hire bikes.

As always we felt completely at home as soon as we arrived and shared many laughs with the hosts, Andy & Tracy."

"Thank you for a great time, myself and Liana really enjoyed it and did not want to come home!"

Lee & Liana Barnsley, June 2010

"Just a quick message to say Thank You for such a great weak with yourselves. I really enjoyed the bike routes you took us on and the mini challenges that you gave us to keep us on our toes throughout the week. I'm no longer an Open Water virgin and can't wait to do more now that I'm back in the UK.

Hope the rest of the season goes well for you and look forward to planning another stay with family Idle again soon."

"Anyone that goes comes back raving about IdleBreaks and the kick that it does to early season racing... well let just say that Ace has done two races since returning and got 3rd and 1st.

This years camp was great - no complaints at all. Even the weather co-operated for us. It was a real treat and I look forward to coming back again next year

The staff was fantastic, food was even better than last year."

"This was my first time at IdleBreaks and didn't know what to expect. After one week, I must say, I'm very happy here. Great place for training and it's run by great people.

Andy took care of us and provided us with great service. The biking is a bit hard, but you forget about it when you are on those nice quiet roads, with beautiful landscape.

I recommend people who want a smaller place with the personal touch to go to IdleBreaks."

"Another fantastic trip and this time as a whole family.

I had four of the best rides anywhere this year in perfect conditions with virtually no traffic (on one 15km section through the olive groves there wasn't a single car) and the girls enjoyed some fabulous horse riding at the nearby stables including full canters across the hills.

The pool as ever was magnificent, with bright clear water set in a beautiful backdrop of hills. A thoroughly good time was had by all."

John & Jill Tate, Leeds

"We heard of IdleBreaks through a friend and found it to be the best training tip we ever received!

Fantastic location and the best riding we have ever experienced!"

Kenneth & Jennifer Riess, Canada

"New into the sport of triathlon, especially biking, coming to IdleBreaks was a unique experience.

The sense experiences, the sense of freedom, hospitality and friendship that I felt during all my stay.

The enormous bike rides we had through so many wonderful places, the respect for the climbs of the Pico de Veleta and Puerto del sol.

Having SAG backup wagon and with Andy a passionate triathlete guiding us all the time, his wife Tracy preparing such delicious meals, great after a hard days training!

1st Brazilian at IdleBreaks!"

Cristian C Gloria, Brazil

"Fabulous place for resting and soaking up the sun and scenery. Felt like part of the family within minutes of arriving."

Julia Lankes

"Hi Andy, quick update on our clan since our visit last month.

Big Jay went on a break away from everyone in his bike race and won on a massive solo break and now leads his field in his race series.

Sean took a field sprint in a big bike race and set a PB in the very first time trial of the year.

Everyone is showing signs of great form and all believe it is the result of a great camp. Everyone is already talking about next year - see you then in 2008."

"Great place, great scenery, great of winding down, great prices - 5th visit so that explains everything"
